"Singing ability requires strong lungs, healthy vocal chords, and a brain that can call the tune. Distinct areas of the brain are in charge of various components of musical ability. This components include the ability to hit the "right" notes (pitch), know the difference between notes, move up and down on a scale, sing in tune, and have a good sense of rhythm and tempo.
To be a good singer, different parts of the brain must be able to process all of these components in sync. A person can inherit singing ability, but exposure to music growing up also can influence ability.
To be an excellent singer, a person must also have what is called "technique", which includes a mastery of the musical components - plus the ability to produce beautiful tones that will carry out from a stage into an audience ever the sound of a band or an orchestra."

"What is technical singing? To properly answer this question, various factors need to be taken under consideration.

First, it is important to understand that although it is difficult to express verbally what a beautiful and an appealing sound may be, we need to acknowledge the fact that there is a standard. It is something that we are all constantly searching for. Subconsciously, we compare what we hear to everything that we have heard before. Provided that the talent is there, the voice has the potential to meet this standard.
This leads to the question as to how this type of sound may be produced sonsistently irregardless of performance or emotional conditions. (This also applies to the public speaking voice).
To be copletely clear, we need to comprehend what is meant by consistency. Consistent singing incorporates an ease and fluidity with which the sound is delivered throughout the singers range as well as an ability to fill an auditorium, no matter the size, at the voice's fullest height and potential without endangering or sacrificing the quality. This stability should be executed without strain or tension.

Technical singing is the mastery of these conditions.

All ot these aspects of proper singing may appear to be a bit overwhelming; but when carefully developed it is a skill that anyone can master. Whith the right amount of talent and a consistency of study, proficiency may be accomplished in a matter of months or at most within a year."
